Orbis Signs Lease at Baypoint

July 10, 2014 – Orbis Education, a leader in healthcare education has signed a lease in the Lake Building at Baypoint Commerce Center, a Feil Organization property. The Lake Building site will host an accelerated nursing program offered by Utica College in partnership with Orbis.

The Lake Building, 9400 4th Street North, is a two-story building located just south of Gandy Blvd. between 4th Street and MLK Street North. Orbis will occupy approximately 9,000 square feet of the building. The building is part of Baypoint Commerce Center which has a total of 15 office buildings in a 76 acre park-like setting. The project was originally developed in 1971. The Feil Organization purchased the property in 2011 and has completed extensive renovations to the park.

Barry Hanerfeld represented the owner in the transaction while K.C. Tenukas represented Orbis. Both brokers are with Cassidy Turley. According to Tenukas, Baypoint was ultimately chosen after a multi-city evaluation that included Sarasota, St. Petersburg, Clearwater, East Tampa and Bradenton. “I think this bodes well for St. Petersburg and Baypoint Commerce Center,” he noted.

Leasing activity at Baypoint continues to gain momentum with over 90,000 square feet of leases signed so far in 2014. “We are excited to welcome Orbis to the Baypoint campus. The Feil Organization’s long-term commitment and vision for Baypoint is the driving force behind the leasing momentum we are experiencing,” said Penny Minich, Baypoint’s general manager.
